Fun and Safety Tips When Camping Near Water

Good Camping Tips Make Your Outdoor Camping Journey More Enjoyable.

Both as an experienced camper and as a beginner, you can still benefit from a couple of camping tips that can help you get the most out of your trip. If you want to make sure that you have the best possible camping trips, then there are a few things you should prepare for before you go, like torn shoes, tent tears and you can go as far as taking duct tape with you to put up mosquito nets. You know that old saying that says you can fix anything you want with baling wire and duct tape? It’s true when it comes to tents.

You can even use stuff from around the house for camping, like a zip-lock bag as a pillow, or an exercise pad that can be used as a sleeping pad. If you use a zip-lock bag as a pillow, make sure you keep a cloth under your head when sleeping.

Another thing that you should take with you when camping is a pair of channel lock pliers, that can be used to lift hot pots off the fire.

Be Prepared With Bad Weather Activities

In many cases, camping trips are ruined by the bad weather, and it can ruin the fun even if you’re stuck in the tent only for couple of hours. For cases like this, you should have with you cards or games to play, so you don’t get too bored. Other things you might need in case of rain include bags that can keep your stuff dry, and they’re useful even when it doesn’t rain, but there is morning dew instead.

Anyone can make a fire when it’s dry outside and they have matches, but to prepare for all kinds of weather you should take with you matches that are weather proof. You can make them yourself, by dipping in wax some wooded kitchen matches of larger size. You can also put clear nail polish on them, but they will light harder, even though they will be waterproof. A good fire starter that you can improvise is a cardboard roll from the toilet paper, which you stuff with scrap paper or dryer lint.
